Mission
The mission of Citizen Advocates for Safe & Efficient Travel is to represent its members with an informed voice in local, state and federal travel and transportation issues, advocating their best interests in a variety of community based forums that convey their concerns and express their interests in the promotion of safe and more efficient travel.

Objectives
The objectives of Citizen Advocates for Safe & Efficient Travel are as follows:

• to promote safe and efficient travel for all modes of transportation
• to position the organization as an important partner in highway safety
• to engage in a continuous campaign to determine public sentiment
• to encourage members to enlist community support for our goals/objectives
• to represent travelers in local, state, and federal policy making forums
• to establish Citizen Advocate coalitions with grass roots support
• to offer solutions for improving safe and efficient travel
• to plan strategies to create media opportunities to inform and educate the public
• to advance the travel agenda as a priority for government & community leaders
• to earn the respect and trust of prospective members, one community at a time

Goals
The goals of Citizen Advocates for Safe & Efficient Travel are as follows:

• establish a network of statewide chapters in all 50 states
• recruit members through an aggressive community outreach campaign
• inform and educate the public about timely transportation issues
• develop criteria to poll the public annually on transportation issues
• create a sense of community based support for our mission
• identify and convey public sentiment on issues of travel and transportation
• participate in local, state and federal forums to lobby for change
• maximize media attention to increase public awareness
• support and preserve the safety net of emergency medical care for travelers
