Economics for Empowerment Summer Seminar 2026

Twenty-three teachers completed the week-long residential Economics for Empowerment Summer Seminar, held June 14–18, 2026, on the beautiful campus of Pepperdine University. Throughout the seminar, participants engaged in dynamic simulations, collaborative discussions, hands-on activities, and thought-provoking presentations. Teacher evaluations reflected the program’s strong impact and confirmed the seminar’s overall success.

Teachers Sharpening Their Skills

Cohort 6 teachers completed 40 hours of high-quality professional development led by state- and nationally recognized instructors. Collaborative sessions, innovative lessons, hands-on activities, and simulations helped teachers strengthen their instructional skills and leave with practical resources for their economics classrooms.

Teachers Treated as Professionals


The seminar recognized teachers as essential professionals by providing the week-long experience at no cost, including meals and housing. This supportive environment allowed participants to focus on learning and collaboration while honoring their dedication to students and education.
